The Best Patios and Summer Hangouts in Olympia and Lacey

Summer’s finally here in the South Sound, and that means it’s patio season. If you’re trying to figure out where to go for good food, cold drinks, and a nice spot to sit outside in Lacey or Olympia, here are some of my favorite places in no particular order. These are just the ones I love.

A few favorites in Lacey. Ricardo's Kitchen & Bar is a great place to start. Good food, great cocktails, and one of the best patios in town. It works for happy hour with friends or a date night. Fire Creek Grill & Ale House is another good one, right along the Capitol City Golf Course. It’s relaxed, the food’s good, and it’s an easy place to sit and enjoy a sunny afternoon. And if you want a good burger and a cold beer, Pints and Quarts Pub is hard to beat. Great burgers, good beer, fun patio. You’ll probably see me there.

Good spots for the family. Pints Dog House in Lacey is a fun one. Really good food, gourmet hot dogs, and nice outdoor seating. And if you’re in the mood for something different, Mextiza has great Mexican-inspired food and creative cocktails, and the place just feels like summer. They built a new front patio recently, so go check it out.

Now over to Olympia. Northwest Beerwerks is one of the coolest outdoor hangouts in town. Craft beer, food trucks, outdoor seating, and fire pits. A great place to spend an afternoon or an evening. Olympia Oyster House is a Thurston County classic. The patio looks right out over the marina, and the views are some of the best around. Add fresh seafood and a cocktail, and it’s a great summer night. Row is another favorite downtown. Good food, good drinks, and a big patio right on the waterfront. And if you love beer, Oly Taproom is a great spot to relax with a local brew after a long day.

The best part about living in Thurston County isn’t just the homes. It’s the lifestyle. Waterfront patios, local breweries, and a lot of good places to get outside and enjoy where you live.
